The Bayport City Council will hold a special workshop on Monday afternoon to discuss the relocation of Andersen Elementary School.Andersen Elementary, built in 1919, is one of the oldest school buildings in the Stillwater Area Public School District, and district officials have been looking at building a new school in either Bayport or Baytown Township.Bayport officials want to keep a school within city limits, and the proposed location is Barker’s Alps Park on the western edge of the city. The city of Bayport started leasing the Barker’s Alps land, formerly part of the Minnesota State prison farm lands, from the state in the 1970s and purchased the 48-acre parcel in 1985. The park includes wooded hiking trails, a playground, picnic shelter, soccer fields and baseball and softball fields.City officials planned this summer to survey residents about the possible relocation to Barker’s Alps, but the survey is on hold as city officials wait for more information from the Stillwater Area ...Fall Renaissance Fair returning to Lake George

Experts say it comes down to a few key factors, according to KTLA sister station WBOY.CompetitionWhen it comes to gas being cheaper across the street, AAA East Central's Public and Legislative Affairs Manager Jim Garrity said pricing is primarily a tactic to get you to spend money at the convenience store, not the pump."[Gas stations] make the majority of their profits in the concession and then the convenience stores that they operate," Garrity said.
