Jones and Zach Allen on the defensive line — and started with a familiar personnel group offensively, as well.McMillian wasted little time making his presence felt after a strong finish to the season’s first half. He ripped the ball out of the arms of Bills running back James Cook and recovered it, setting up the Broncos’ opening field goal.Saturday double. Denver’s got a long stay in Buffalo, arriving Saturday night and leaving Tuesday mid-day. That didn’t stop general manager George Paton and the Broncos’ scouting staff from doing some heavy lifting on Saturday, however.Instead of traveling to Buffalo, Paton scouted Michigan at Penn State in the early window Saturday and then made it to North Carolina for UNC...

Soul Asylum Strips Down in Santa Monica: McCabes Guitars in Santa Monica is more than just a store, although it is a very, very good musical instrument store. They also tune and repair instruments, and offer lessons. Best of all, they regularly host acoustic concerts. On Sunday evening, one such McCabes show was headlined by Minneapolis alt-rockers Soul Asylum. After a touching set by Louisiana singer and songwriter Victoria Williams that saw her play crowd favorites “Crazy Mary” and “Frying Pan” among others, Soul Asylum’s David Pirner and Ryan Smith (who has been in the band since 2016) took to the stage. It was wonderful to see them in a relatively intimate environment, and Pirner was in a chipper mood. Pirner and Smith’s chemistry is relatively fresh but tangible. The pair playfully play off of...

Review: The Marvels

It seems every studio has felt the pushback from a lethargic audience starving for original content. But can The Marvels save us from caped crusader burnout?Featuring Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) from Captain Marvel and The Avengers, Monica Rambeau from WandaVision (Teyonah Parris) and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) from Ms. Marvel, The Marvels is a female-led superhero pic directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman) in s...
